Camogli is a well-kept secret. This slow-paced little town is one of my favourites in the area. The tall houses, the picturesque church, the lighthouse, the nice promenade, the harbour with cute cafes and art shops make Camogli really special.
Portofino used to be a tiny fishing village but it turned into a celebrity hotspot. Life is mainly around the little bay with the fishing boats and the million-dollar yachts, surrounded by the world-famous row of colourful houses hiding fancy shops.
You can't miss the turquoise bay of Paraggi on the way to Portofino. The area is full of colourful fish, it feels like swimming in an aquarium. Don't forget your snorkeling equipment at home.
Deiva Marina is a peaceful seaside resort between the Cinque Terre and Genoa. It has a nice long sandy beach which is quite rare in this part of Liguria. It is an ideal place for families with small kids.
Levanto has a very nice atmosphere, a long beach, nice shops and a covered food market. You should rent a bike and try the fun bicycle path along the sea, through the old railway tunnels.
The hamlet of San Bernardino can be found above Corniglia. It is worth a visit for its tranquility and one of the best views in the Cinque Terre.
Le Grazie is a very pleasant, quiet seaside town with a beautiful harbour nestled between green hills: colourful fishing and sailing boats, a small beach, cute little cafes and a good icecream shop.
Portovenere sits on a rocky peninsula in the Gulf of Poets. With its small harbour lined with colourful houses, its narrow streets leading up to the castle and the church standing on top of the rock, Portovenere is one of my favourite places to visit.
Lerici is a pretty seaside town with a beautiful promenade, a big harbour, a large piazza with several bars and restaurants, tiny alleyways in the old town and an imposing castle.
Tellaro is a real gem hidden at the end of Liguria, close to the tuscan border. A charming, romantic place in the Gulf of Poets with bright houses, colourful fishing boats, a cute church and quiet, narrow alleyways. Tellaro is registered among the most beautiful villages of Italy.
