Deiva Marina is a peaceful seaside resort between the Cinque Terre and Genoa. It has a nice long sandy beach which is quite rare in this part of Liguria. It is an ideal place for families with small kids. If you stay in the Cinque Terre and want to spend a day with your children swimming, sunbathing and building sand castles, take the train to Deiva Marina, it's just a few stops away.
People might say there is not a lot to do in Deiva Marina. That's why it's a great place! Not many shops, not many bars and not many tourists. It's just a perfect place for a relaxing day. You can spend the whole day on the beach, but it's actually worth taking a nice walk around the old town. This area dates back to the 9th century and has colourful houses and narrow alleyways just like the other towns mentioned on this homepage. The old town is actually on the other side of Deiva Marina, close to the hills. The area near the sea is new and modern with hotels, restaurants and gift shops.
There is also a cute street market here Saturday mornings, so if you are staying in an apartment and need some cheese, ham and wine, this is a good place to buy it.
There are several hiking trails in the area, you can walk to Framura, Bonassola or Moneglia on the other side.
Choose from a wide range of sustainable and authentic tours.
