Andrea, a young winegrower from Riomaggiore, follows the wine-growing traditions handed down over generations. He takes you on a unique and interesting wine tour.
In the morning, you meet Andrea at the bus stop of Santuario di Montenero, which you can easily reach by car or by bus from the center of Riomaggiore. From there, you walk on a little trail to his vineyard. This is a special panoramic place with a great view over the steep Cinque Terre coast. Andrea will explain his wine-growing methods: respecting the vineyard and the earth without the use of chemical products.
Andrea combines modern methods with ancient equipment such as terracotta amphorae. During the explanation of his wine-making methods, you will taste his natural and intense wines which, through their scents and flavours, will transmit to you the special characteristics of the place where they have grown – rocks, sea and herbs. The wine tasting is accompanied by typical Ligurian focaccia bread.
Price includes: visit to the vineyard, a little hike, tasting of 2 wines and some Ligurian focaccia.
You should bring: camera, hiking shoes, water and raincoat, depending on the weather.
To participate in this program, a good fitness level is necessary.
Hi! We are already back in Barcelona, crying because the end of vacations and missing Cinque Terre. We enjoyed so much our tour through the vineyard of Andrea, together with his explanations and stories about his work and the life of people in this region. We got fun also with the other two girls that accompanied us in the tour. Nothing to criticise, excepting that I would have liked enjoying this experience all day long. I bought two precious souvenirs: the book Cinque Terre by Catherina Unger and a bottle of Refusà, the sweet wine of Andrea. I want to express to Andrea all my gratitude because his cool disposition and also to you for an excelent managing of this tour. All the best.
Hi Tamara, happy to provide a reference. We lived our time in Cinque Terre. Breathtaking views and breathless hikes. Andrea was terrific. He took us through the terraces and explained his family's history of winemaking, different grapes, planting and harvesting techniques. He was a great guide. The views from his terraces were great. We ended in his wine cellar for tastings and info on his bottling and sales processes. Delicious and informative. Recommend highly.
