Although it offers world-class views, this coastal trail is still unknown and quiet. You will meet in the beautiful small town of Bonassola in the morning. I really love Bonassola, it's colourful, quiet and has a nice long beach, a great place to have breakfast or morning coffee before your tour. You can easily reach Bonassola by train from the Cinque Terre villages.
Your guide will be Heidi, whom I have known for about 15 years. She is a wonderful person, always smiling, and a passionate nature and hiking guide. With Heidi you'll hike to Framura on the coastal trail, through forests and Mediterranean shrub, while constantly enjoying the view of the sea and the Ligurian coastline.
The 8 km hike takes about 3 hours, with an altitude difference of 450 meters.
Framura is also very interesting, it's like a village on several floors, all floors with seaview of course. You'll visit a farm where Emilio grows fruits and vegetables, makes wine and olive oil in a sustainable way. He also has some animals on the farm.
At the end of the tour you can relax in his courtyard and taste 3 different wines, plus a liqueur, along with some local snacks like cheese, ham or vegetable pie. At the end of the tour you'll walk down to the railway station of Framura. Below the station there is a hidden bay where you can go for a swim in the crystal clear water, or get a coffee from the cute local bar. The small port of Framura is also very characteristic with the colourful boats.
Price includes: hike with English speaking hiking guide, visit to the vineyards and fields, tasting of 3 wines, 1 liqueur and local snacks.
You should bring: hiking shoes, backpack, at least 1l water, snacks, sun protection, hat, waterproof jacket. Trekking poles recommended.
You will meet Heidi, your hiking guide at the railway station of Framura, just above the sea. You will walk up to the vineyard during sunset time, enjoying the most beautiful lights of the day. Heidi will tell you about Framura and the natural environment around it.
Emilio will be waiting for you in his vineyard with wonderful seaview and will show you around. After this you can relax in a cute square where you will taste Emilio's wines, some olive oil and the traditional myrtle liqueur of Framura, along with local specialties.
The altitude difference is about 150 meters. This program is suitable for families as well. No cars are allowed in the village, so children can happily run around the square during the tasting. Children under 9 years are free, while children aged between 10 and 17 pay 50%.
Price includes: short hike with English speaking hiking guide, visit to the vineyards and fields, tasting of 3 wines, 1 liqueur, olive oil and local snacks.
You should bring: comfortable shoes for the uphill walk, water, camera, a sweater or light jacket.
